MyNest US Fund

Dear Family Members

I’m excited to introduce you to MyNest US Fund—a long-term effort to build something lasting, like a family orchard that will bear fruit for generations. My mission is simple: to grow our family’s wealth steadily, with care and good judgment.

I’ve drawn inspiration from Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger—legendary investors who understood that real rewards come from buying great businesses at sensible prices and holding them for the long haul.

As of January 2025, I am opening the fund for you to invest alongside me. The initial portfolio, carefully built since 2021, follows value investing principles inspired by Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger. It consists of a select group of U.S. publicly listed companies, with the goal of outperforming the S&P 500 over 5, 10, and 20 years.

While I cannot promise specific results, what I can guarantee is that I will be investing alongside you—eating my own cooking. Your trust is personal to me, and I will treat your investment as if it were meant for your retirement, medical needs, or your children’s education. That means I will not take unnecessary risks with your money and investment will certainly grow over time.

This handbook outlines my investment philosophy, key principles, and how we’ll work together to grow and protect our family’s wealth. Take your time to read through it, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

I hope this fund becomes a meaningful step toward building a legacy we can all take pride in—one that benefits us today and for generations to come.

Section 1: How We Think About Investing

At MyNest US Fund, we don’t chase stock market headlines—we invest in businesses we’d be proud to own. Think of it like a cherished family recipe: you pick the best ingredients, blend them with care, and let time work its magic. Our approach focuses on steady growth while keeping risks low, aligning with the patience and values our family holds dear.

Here’s what guides us:

• Businesses Over Tickers – We focus on what a company does, very little on daily stock prices.

• A Sturdy Edge – We invest in businesses with a wide moat—something unique that keeps them thriving, whether it’s a beloved brand or an unbeatable product.

• Honest Leadership – We back people who lead with integrity and treat shareholders like true partners.

• Keeping It Familiar – We invest in businesses we understand—no wild guesses, no chasing trends.

• Long-Term Vision – Markets move up and down, but real value compounds over time. We’re in this for the long haul, growing wealth that lasts—just like our family’s story.

Section 2: How We Choose Investments

Our method is like picking a reliable plow at the fair—simple, but thorough. Here’s what we look for:

• A Tough Moat – Businesses with a lasting edge, whether it’s a reputation that people trust or a product others can’t easily copy.

• Strong Foundations – Profitable companies with consistent earnings, little debt, and steady cash flow—the marks of a business built to last.

• Capable Hands – Leadership matters. We invest in companies run by smart, honest people who reinvest wisely—like hiring a trustworthy farmhand with both skill and heart.

• A Good Deal – Even the best businesses aren’t worth overpaying for. We wait for the right price, ensuring our family’s money works harder from day one.

Section 3: Safeguarding Our Family’s Wealth

Investing has its ups and downs—anyone claiming otherwise is telling tales. Our shield is simple:

• Buy a dollar’s worth of value for fifty cents – This margin of safety gives us room to breathe if we misjudge.

• Stay diversified – We invest in a carefully selected group of businesses across different industries. This ensures our nest egg isn’t reliant on just one sector or company. A strong mix of businesses helps us weather market storms while keeping our upside intact.

• No borrowing – Debt is like stacking firewood in a storm—one slip, and it all tumbles down. We prefer to grow steadily and sleep soundly, knowing our family’s wealth is secure.

Section 4: Your Place in the Family

Here’s where you come in: think long-term and stay steady.

The market might buck like a wild horse some days, but we’re not here for the thrill. We own stakes in real businesses—ones built to thrive over time. Investing is like tending a family garden—you don’t yank up the plants just to check the roots.

Trust the process, tune out the noise, and let’s build something lasting for generations to come.

Section 5: Our Family’s Ground Rules

These rules keep us united, focused, and moving forward with purpose:

• A Long-Term Promise – We’re building for decades, not days.

• For Family Only – This fund is exclusive to our immediate family, keeping it a trusted, private circle.

• No Fees for Five Years – A family head start—zero fees for the first five years.

• Monthly Check-Ins – We’ll update the fund’s value once a month—enough to stay informed without overanalyzing.

• Yearly Ins and Outs – Investments can be added or withdrawn once a year, keeping us focused on the long game.

• One-Year Notice to Exit – Need to cash out? Give us a year’s notice so we can plan accordingly.

• Staying True to Value – We invest in undervalued, high-quality businesses and hold them tight.

• No Debt – We never borrow to invest.

• Global Reach Through U.S. Businesses – While our fund focuses on U.S.-listed companies, many of these businesses operate globally, generating revenue from markets around the world. This allows us to benefit from international growth while staying within our circle of competence.

Section 6: Family Questions Answered

❓ How often do you buy or sell?

🔹 We buy to keep—sometimes forever. We only sell if a business falters or gets overpriced.

❓ Do you predict the market’s ups and downs?

🔹 Not a chance. That’s like guessing the wind. We buy value and wait.

❓ What happens if the market crashes?

🔹 We buy more. A downturn is just a chance to own more at a bargain.

❓ Do we earn dividends?

🔹 If a company pays dividends, we reinvest back into the fund. Our focus is on compounding growth.

Closing Thoughts

Investing is about patience, discipline, and trust. This fund isn’t about chasing quick wins—it’s about building a legacy that strengthens our family for generations.

We’re in this together. Let’s grow something meaningful.
