Doing it right the 2nd time

27 Apr 2024
So I find myself back on this 15,000 km trip again but doing it right this time and certainly for the better. The premium economy seat from SQ felt like a business class one. This is especially so when compared to the previous year auto-assigned middle seat of a certain “US Airline” due to last-minute delay and changes.

This time round, I allowed myself to “recuperate” from the jet-lagged by hanging around San Francisco Bay Area before the trip to Omaha. The sunshine in California is simply therapeutic and energising. Some places I visited include Apple Park, Costco and the Stanford University Campus.

The dreaded transit into Omaha feels like a long trip in itself after flying into Denver and then another flight into the holyland.

The second time was better because I had friends staying @ Airbnb, a rental car and many great tasty restaurants hopping.

The lecture provided by William Green on the late Charlie Munger was inspiring and there were many takeaways on how one can live a truly fulfiling life.

Yes, I did not wake up at 4am this time round. While the seating may not be as good, I would say 3 more hours of sleep is much better.

Took many photos at the fair and of course the best time to shop is definately while waiting for the AGM to start.

There was a moment when Warren spontaneously called out to Charlie after answering a question that made me realise Warren and Berkshire would be missing Charlie so very much.

Even the after events at the AGM were great. Invest in yourself 5k run by Brooks is one of them. It was a lovely morning run going pass some of prominent Omaha town venue.

Some of the Mungerisms quotes along the route to remind ourselves of Munger’s wisdom.
